Morgan Sindall
Working together to deliver local social value and create opportunities for the next generation of construction talent.
We’re proud to work with Morgan Sindall, one of the UK’s leading construction and regeneration groups, to deliver meaningful social value through our win:win model. Together, we’re transforming community spaces near their sites while giving young people hands-on work experience that helps build skills for their future careers. So far, this partnership has supported 5 projects across the East & West Midlands and Wales, with more in the pipeline, helping create vibrant spaces for local communities and opportunities for the next generation of construction talent.
Here’s a look at some of our work together so far.
Woodhouse Colts, Mansfield
A growing grassroots club expanding their women’s and girls’ offer, faced a lack of suitable facilities, leaving the female game with no dedicated changing/team space, with little growth opportunity. To help tackle this, the team got creative, transforming a shipping container, donated by Morgan Sindall, into a dedicated female-only changing space – giving the women and girls a space to call their own. Alongside this, Mansfield District Council, through the UKSPF, funded the development of a new hospitality and storage area to better serve players and visitors. Together, these improvements mean the women and girls game can now thrive and grow at Woodhouse Colts.
The Treasury, Nottingham
A much‑loved hub for everything from Scouts to dance groups, Messy Church, and a local youth club. The building had seen better days, with large areas out of action, clutter piling up, and energy bills on the rise. The project delivered real impact, improving energy efficiency, helping them to reopen their community café, fitting new toilets, and giving the space a full refresh, boosting its usage in the local community and by even more local people/groups.
“Really transformed this beautiful old building ready for the good of the community. The staff and students are to be commended for their hard work and commitment to the project.”
Queen Elizabeth’s Academy
Eastmoors Youth Centre, Cardiff
To create a safe and inspiring space for creativity, we worked alongside young people like Elliot (see his story below) to transform Eastmoors Youth Centre’s garage into a professional recording studio with a soundproof booth, mixing area, chill-out zone, and a feature mural by Fresh Creative. For Elliot, taking part helped him discover new skills, grow his confidence, and find a passion for carpentry. The space now offers a lasting creative outlet for music and media, while building community pride and opportunities for collaboration with local artists and volunteers.
Toby was referred to VIY by Vision West Notts College and joined his first project at St Peter’s Centre in Mansfield (funded by Mansfield City Council via UKSPF) in March 2025.
He then volunteered in a second VIY project, at The Treasury, Mansfield, funded by Morgan Sindall, where he took part because of his interest in the NOCN Level 1 Environmental Awareness and Sustainability in Construction qualification, which he successfully achieved. In addition, Toby also gained two Entry Level 3 City & Guilds accreditations in Introducing Paint Finishing Skills and Conduct at Work through his participation in the projects.
Throughout the VIY projects, Toby developed his skills, confidence, and work ethic, and was put forward for a trial week with the Bell Group, an opportunity facilitated through VIY’s partnership with the Dulux Decorator Centre, where he impressed and secured a full Painting & Decorating Apprenticeship.
Five months in, Toby is thriving and excited to build his future as a Painter and Decorator.
Elliot says: “My dad’s a painter, so I’d always had painting and decorating in mind. When the opportunity came up, I just went for it. The apprenticeship is going really well and my confidence has grown a lot since starting.”
