On this project VIY will be transforming the piece of land into a community garden for the public to use and plant. The site will get a new path for access, 6 benches and 5 planters and is the pilot of more to come in the area.

Saffron Acres Project

VIY will be transforming an overgrown and neglected woodland area into a vibrant and inclusive sensory trail and garden, alongside a dedicated forest school space for local young people and vulnerable adults to enjoy for years to come.

Once a thriving outdoor area, the space fell into disuse during the COVID period due to limited funding and capacity. We’re now bringing it back to life with a full renovation — including the construction of new timber planters, the creation of an accessible bark pathway, and the installation of sensory boards, bug hotels, and other interactive features designed to stimulate and inspire.

Bread Kitchen

VIY will be constructing a bridge over a dry ditch which will give access to the final area of the venue to enable the vegetation to be cleared and for the space to be used. We will also be constructing a shelter for the animals.

VIY will be refurbishing a meeting room by installing new skirting, decorating and constructing storage. We will also be installing doors to the existing frames for three WCs and will be installing a new insulated finish to the roof soffit.
