About the project

What does this community space/venue do?
Live!Cheshire is a local charity based in Chester that provides inclusive clubs, learning programs, and social activities for children, young people, and adults with physical, learning, or sensory disabilities.

What is VIY doing?

A youth-led DIY project creating an inclusive podcast booth and accessible 3D-printing workstation.

VIY will transform the existing classroom/meeting room into a modern, flexible Learning Zone, creating a space suitable for individual and group learning, digital skills practice, IT-based learning, workshops and collaborative projects. Works will include installing desks, creating a dedicated digital skills area with computers and IT equipment, and adapting the space to provide a more flexible, technology-enabled learning environment.

What will be the impact of our project?
Young people will develop practical construction, digital and creative skills, build confidence and teamwork, and gain opportunities for self-expression. The accessible workstation will support participation by wheelchair users.

The completed facilities will provide Live Cheshire with lasting resources to support creativity, learning, inclusion and future opportunities for young people.
