What is VIY doing?

PITCH PERIMETER FAN BARRIER
Existing Area
Hartlepool Rovers Rugby Club has recently acquired an additional
playing pitch to support the continued growth of the club. To
improve the appearance, safety and functionality of the new pitch,
a timber spectator barrier will be installed around the perimeter,
creating a defined viewing area for supporters while enhancing
the overall presentation of the facility.
VIY Scope of Works
* Set out the perimeter barrier in line with the agreed pitch layout.
* Install treated timber posts at the required centres.
* Construct and install a robust timber spectator barrier using
treated timber rails.
* Ensure all fixings are suitable for external use.
* Complete all finishing works to provide a safe and durable
installation.
* Leave the site clean and ready for use.

HOME & AWAY TEAM DUGOUTS
Existing Area
The new pitch currently lacks dedicated sheltered areas for
substitutes, coaches and team staff. This project will provide two
purpose-built timber dugouts, one for the home team and one for
the away team, creating a professional matchday environment
while protecting players from the weather.
VIY Scope of Works
* Construct timber frames for two identical dugouts.
* Install treated timber cladding to the rear and side elevations.
* Construct and install pitched mono-pitch roofs.
* Install internal timber bench seating within both dugouts.
* Secure each structure safely to the existing base.
* Complete all finishing works to ensure the structures are durable
and suitable for year-round outdoor use.
* Leave the area clean and ready for use.

What will be the impact of our project?

Hartlepool Rovers Rugby Club continues to invest in expanding
opportunities for both boys and girls to participate in rugby. The
acquisition of a new playing pitch demonstrates the club’s
commitment to meeting growing demand and providing additional
capacity for training and competitive fixtures.
The installation of a timber spectator barrier will improve safety by
clearly separating spectators from the playing area while
enhancing the overall appearance of the venue. The construction
of dedicated home and away dugouts will provide sheltered,
professional facilities for players, coaches and volunteers,
creating a better matchday experience for everyone using the
pitch.
These improvements will benefit hundreds of players, families,
volunteers and visiting teams throughout the season, helping the
club continue to grow participation across all age groups and both
male and female sections. Alongside these lasting community
improvements, the project will provide young people participating
through VIY with valuable hands-on experience in external
carpentry and construction, equipping them with practical skills
and increased confidence for future employment.
