Project Overview

On this project, VIY renovated the changing rooms, officials’ room, and managers’ room. VIY created individual player boxes for all 16 players in each team, installed privacy screens in each changing room, and finished by painting the floors and walls in the club’s colours. The impact provided both adult and junior players with a space to be proud of, featuring the club’s colours and values displayed throughout, reflecting the club’s rich history.

Project Overview

VIY improved the venue’s changing rooms by adding benches, kit alcoves, and new decorations, with a focus on enhancing the female facilities to attract more female members. Additional work included painting and decorating the hall, entrance lobby, and painting the club’s logo on an external wall. As a boxing gym with a strong social impact, the venue offers free lessons to those in need, including individuals from a deprived area and victims of bullying, while also fundraising for various charities. The goal is to improve member experiences and community engagement.

Project Overview

VIY constructed a timber frame for a new pergola on the side of the venue. The impact was significant, as it now provides additional shelter and a new space for spectators, along with a place to enjoy coffee, tea, and refreshments. The space serves as a vibrant community hub, hosting a variety of sports and activities, alongside a very popular café.

Project Overview

On this project, VIY renovated the home and away changing rooms. Additionally, we refreshed the corridor, function room, and kitchen with a fresh coat of paint, breathing new life into the club after 20 years of neglect.

As an extra touch, we also created picnic benches for spectators to enjoy, enhancing their experience at the club.

The impact of this project was significant, ensuring that both females and males feel more comfortable and welcome when using the improved facilities.

Project Overview

Strood Boxing Club, founded 17 years ago to support a deprived community, provides a safe, affordable space for individuals aged 8-40 to learn boxing, gain confidence, and access new opportunities. VIY is refurbishing a gym by repairing walls, doors, and ceilings, and refreshing both the interior and exterior to create a more welcoming environment. These improvements aim to attract more members, particularly women, while helping the club continue its vital work of mentoring and empowering the local community.
